The Floral Studio

Most flowers are bought to be looked at for a week.

These are not. Everlasting pieces are made once, by hand, and kept. Fresh flowers are made for one occasion and meant to be spent on it. Wedding flowers are designed as a single scheme for a single day. Three different promises, and we would rather you knew which one you are buying.

Faux and dried botanicals arranged to hold their place for years. Buy a piece from the collection, take a new one each season, or commission one designed for a particular room: its light, its proportions and its owner.

Bought and built for one occasion: a dinner, a weekend of guests, a birthday, a thank-you. Baskets, hatboxes and installations made in the room itself. By enquiry, and never posted.

Materials

Which material, and why.

The three do different jobs. Choosing wrongly is the most common way to be disappointed by flowers.

  1. FauxPermanent, and chosen for the form.For pieces that stand in one place for years, where shape matters more than scent. Dusted, never watered.
  2. DriedReal stems, held still.Seasonal by nature, so some, like the corkscrew hazel, are only available after the winter cut.
  3. FreshFor one occasion, and spent on it.Ordered for the date, made the day before, handed over ready to place. Never claimed to be anything it is not.

The studio

Kelsey makes them.

Every arrangement on this site was made by Kelsey, at one table, in Warwickshire.

That is the whole of the studio, and it is why the work is consistent. Kelsey answers the enquiry, chooses the stems, builds the piece and, where it is an installation, sets it in the room herself. There is no one to hand you on to.
