Set the rhythm of the house

Tell us how much coffee the house drinks. We will suggest the bag and the interval, show you where the deliveries fall, and every figure moves as you change your mind.

How much the house drinks

Most houses drink steadily and then drink a great deal at the weekend, so we ask about both. A cup here is an 18 g dose, the measure most machines pull.

We reckon two cups each, so about 12 cups an occasion, and that is what a delivery holds back for the next one.

2 cups a day, and 6 round once or twice a month. About 47 g a day on average, 327 g a week.

Whole bean, or ground

Ground at home, as you need it. Every delivery comes the same way, and the grind does not change the price. You can switch it before any delivery.

How often it arrives

A delivery lasts about 43 days. The next one comes after 28. The bar reads in three: the days to the next delivery, then one occasion held back at about 216 g, then anything spare.

More than enough. About 15 days in hand each time, so a store builds up.

    Dates are counted from today so you can see the rhythm. The first delivery is set when ordering opens, once the roast and dispatch days are confirmed.

    The Standing Order

    How it works

    The Standing Order is how most of the houses we supply keep coffee in. You set the size and the rhythm; we roast to order and send it before you run out.

    A subscription should be easier to leave than to join. Everything here sits in your account, and none of it needs a telephone call.

    All of this sits in your account, and none of it needs a telephone call. Payment is taken by Stripe, once for each delivery. Every delivery shows the day its cut-off falls, which is the day it goes to the roaster, and until then it is yours to change.

    Questions

    Before you begin

    Do I pay less on The Standing Order?
    Yes. A 1 kg bag is £34.95 bought once and £31.50 on The Standing Order, whichever interval you choose. The 227 g bag is £10.95 and £9.95. The saving is the same however often it comes, so you can pick the rhythm that suits the house rather than the one that happens to be cheapest.
    When am I charged?
    Once for each delivery, before it is roasted, never a year in advance. Your account shows the day the next charge falls, and the day the cut-off passes for changing that delivery.
    Can I change the bag or the interval?
    Yes, in your account, up to the cut-off for that delivery. The size, the number of bags, how often it comes and where it goes. The cut-off is the day it goes to the roaster, and every delivery shows its own.
    What happens when I go away?
    Skip the next delivery from your account and keep the rhythm, or pause it altogether and start again when you are home. Nothing is roasted and nothing is charged for a delivery you have skipped.
    Is it the same coffee every time?
    One blend, ours, hand roasted in Warwickshire. Caramel, milk chocolate and hazelnut, with a note of red wine and a long, warm finish.
    How do I stop?
    From your account, whenever you like. There is nothing to telephone about and no notice to give.

    A subscription suits the house that always has coffee in. If you would rather buy a bag when you think of it, that is the same coffee and the same roast.
